The US is experiencing an epidemic of drug related deaths, especially from heroine overdoes and Barack Obama is responsible. Additionally, the record number of drug deaths completely undermine the liberal arguments most used to support more gun control.
In 2014, there were approximately 47,000 drug overdose deaths in the US. In the same year, there were only 32,599 traffic fatalities in the US. In 2014, there were only 33,636 firearm deaths on which only 10,945 were homicides and 21,334 were suicides.
Barack Obama and most other liberals push hard for more and stricter gun control measures, arguing that they are wanting to reduce the violence and deaths. If that was a true argument, then why have they done nothing to reduce the worse epidemic of drug overdose deaths, which are a lot more than either traffic accidents or guns? If they really wanted to cut down on senseless deaths, then Obama and others should be spending a lot more effort to fight the trafficking of drugs into the US, but they aren’t.
This very fact clearly undermines their argument of the need for more and stricter gun control and it’s an important fact that pro-Second Amendment advocates need to use to counter anti-gun fanatics.
