If you heard someone mention terrorist or terrorist attack, what comes to mind?
For many of us, we think about Islamic terrorists, foreign and home grown.
If you were asked how many terrorist attacks there has been in the US in the past 100 years, how many would you guess? Would you be shocked if I told you that according to one source, there have been 335 terrorist attacks in the United States from January 1916 through January 2016?
We tend to forget that an act of terrorism can come in many forms. For example, according to the same website:
- 29 Apr 1919 – Atlanta, Georgia – mail bomb sent to home of senator Thomas Hardwick explodes, injuring a housekeeper and the senator’s wife.
